Plateau Govt Partners UBA, Sterling Banks, ITTMS & NURTW To Improve Transportation

The Plateau State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Davou Jatau Gyang has disclosed government partnership with the integrated Tricycle transport management system (ITTMS ), Sterling Bank, UBA, NURTW, and GIOPAT-DC to improve the means of transportation cost. The Commissioner made this known in an exclusive interview with journalists at the Joseph Gwomwalk Secretariat during an interactive session with stakeholders in Jos.

He admonished all the tricycle owners, and riders to register for data collection in the state to avoid stealing and kidnapping of the tricycles because the exercise would enhance the transport sector and reduce the cost of transportation means.

The Commissioner stressed that the whole plan was to create an impact on technical, and financial partners through synergizing on model tricycles converted to the use of gas. He explained further that the UBA would be training them on ICT technology to convert it from fuel to gas which can make a difference.

The Commissioner added the value that the whole thing is enduring, innovative, and impactful the role shall bring advancement to the state, and large formal economy and have access to a financially integrated technical transformation system.

The Commissioner emphasized that the banning on the operation of motorbike transportation in the state the law spanned over a decade. Adding the challenges that the state went through as a result of the untimely death of citizens without a clear cut identity of those criminal elements where these riders of tricycles owners, riders come from so the government developed a new policy to curtail the rampaging killers to secure the lives of citizens.

Barr . Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang in his campaign promises to the people of Plateau State to protect the lives and he cautioned that the sanctity of lives must be protected first, he said.

The Commissioner noted that the ongoing campaign of rehabilitation of the state capital roads requires huge spending and the car transporters need to contribute to making use of the roads as commercial by paying Revenue to the government.

He charged the tricycle owners/riders to know that the presence government is prepared to provide alternative measures to swiftly transform the sector and improve them by appealing to users to key into it.

The Commissioner employed all the tricycle owners to submit themselves for data capturing through NIN and within 30 days they would have a comprehensive plan policy to avoid kidnapping and stealing.
